bay area personal trainer
zakk paez discovered fitness early on, growing up in the midwest with physical therapist parents who pushed him to be active. exploring his environments and testing his limitations as a kid quickly grew into a fascination with health and fitness, and led to a desire to help others reclaim the enjoyment once given to them by physical activity
regular movement is crucial not only for a healthy body, but also a healthy mind. by challenging yourself physically, you learn to overcome obstacles, quicken your decision making, and improve confidence in all areas of life
when relocating to the bay area, I saw countless tech professionals folded over at their desks all day, stuffed into cars commuting for hours, not allowing their bodies the breaks they need from these damaging positions
my training philosophy is to find sustainable, practical ways to combat this and incorporate full body restorative movement into your everyday life. this ensures our results are not only meaningful, but sustainable
we work together to find a routine that compliments your busy schedule, either at home, outdoor, or via convenient virtual sessions
why kettlebells? so many reasons! kettlebells offer the best bang for your buck and time efficiency, strengthening your muscles, joints and cardio respiratory fitness at all once. they teach full-body coordination and build greater core stability than other methods. traditional kettlebell movements also strengthen your posterior muscle chain, which is invaluable to your posture and alleviating neck/back pain and stiffness. they also require minimal space and equipment, allowing for training virtually anywhere
why a return to playful movement? lock a kid inside on a rainy day and theyâll find ways to move. climbing bookcases, jumping down stairs. we were designed for unstructured natural movements (running, jumping, crawling) and our brain has positive physiologic responses to these stimuli, both mental and physical. we also progress faster when stimulated by enjoyable challenges
